The City may cause grass to be cut. A $100 admin fee plus the cost of abatement shall apply. If the cost of the contract is not paid within thirty days the city shall file a lien on the subject property. The lien shall be second only to tax liens and liens for street improvements. The amount shall bear ten percent interest from the date of filing of expenses by the City.
The City may issue a citation of two hundred ($200) dollars and/or enter upon the property to abate the violation and require you to pay the cost of abatement, and if not paid, shall file a lien on the subject property. Any request for a hearing must be made before the 15-day notification period expires.
Whenever in this Code or in any ordinance of the city an act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful and no specific penalty is provided, the violation of any such provision shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $500. However, a fine or penalty for the violation of a rule, ordinance or police regulation that governs fire safety, zoning or public health and sanitation, including dumping of refuse, shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $2,000.
