General Questions

Q1. How do I make a Public Information Request?

Public information request forms can be downloaded off this website.  However, you can also make a request for public information by emailing or regular mail the subject of which you are requesting information about, sign and dated, to the attention of the City Secretary.  Verbal request for public information will not be honored.

Q2. How long does it take to receive the information I have requested?

After the receipt of the request, state law requires the city to respond within ten (10) business days not counting weekends or days that City Hall is closed.  Some information that is requested requires an opinion from the Attorney General, in this case it could take up to 30 days or longer.  Should an opinion from the Attorney General be required, you will be notified within 10 days of receipt of your request.

Q3. Can I find the city ordinances or resolutions on line?

These are not available at this time.  However, the city is in the process of having all ordinances codified.  Once this process has be completed you will able to locate what you need from this website.  In the meantime, if you need a copy of an ordinance or resolution, contact the City Secretary.

Q4. When are council meetings?

Council meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month.  Occasionally council will have a workshop session or special called meeting. Notices of meetings are posted on this website and on the bulletin board outside city hall. 

Q5. When are Planning and Zoning meetings?

Planning and Zoning (P&Z) meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month. .  Occasionally P & Z will have a special called meeting. Notices of meetings are posted on this website and on the bulletin board outside city hall. 

Q6. When are the Parks Board meetings?

The Parks Board meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month.  Occasionally the Parks Board will have a special called meeting. Notices of meetings are posted on this website and on the bulletin board outside city hall.
