Fate Cares

On Tuesday, September 5 the Fate City Council passed a resolution to support the Hurricane Harvey victims. In response to this, Fate has teamed up with two nonprofit organizations. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of North Texas and The American Red Cross. Both organization are collecting funds to help our fellow Texans affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Donations are being accepted online and during Celebrate Fate this Saturday. As we celebrate the great community of Fate, let us show the Houston area that Fate Cares.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) is an international 501c3 nonprofit community-based volunteer organization offering direct aid, service and programs to those in need. One of their programs is the House in a Box® program. The goal is to provide new household items for families who have lost everything as a result of natural disasters and who are forced into situational poverty. The “House in a Box®” gives dignity to families in crisis as it gives them a new start and fresh start. All families receive the same new items which are packaged for efficiency of delivery in a box. To make an online donation, go to www.svdpdallas.org/donate and in the note enter Fate. Representatives will also be onsite during Celebrate Fate to accept monetary donations.

To make a donation to Hurricane Harvey victims with the American Red Cross go to www.RedCross.org/FateCares and use the drop down menu to choose where you would like your funds to help.

These links will be open until November 30, the end of hurricane season.

The application window for vendors is now closed.  If you have already applied, you will be receiving communication from City Staff soon.
