The Operations Division consists of a staff of highly trained officers and supervisors that work to serve the city 24/7. They are responsible for enforcing state and municipal laws and ordinances designed to protect life and property. Most likely the first person you will see when you are in need of the Police, Fire or EMS, will be one of our Public Safety Officers. These PSO's take pride in serving the citizens of Fate.
Public Safety Officers handle a variety of calls during their duty shifts. Anything from Police calls for service to Fire calls or providing medical aid as a first responder. Each PSO's is certified by the State of Texas as a Police Officer, Fire Fighter and EMT or Paramedic. The officers work a 24 hour shift schedule during which time the work on each side of the house. The shifts are staffed as A,B, and C shifts and are under the direct supervision of a shift Lieutenant.
Assistant Chief Jim Simmons oversees the Operations Division and ensures compliance with polices and standards are met. Chief Simmons is also responsible for the strategic planning for Police, Fire and EMS activities.
